Baby Fisher {Newborn Photography Session}

Newborn sessions are my jam!  I love doing them.  It is such a special time in your family’s life and I love helping you remember it.  There are many emotions during a newborn shoot—love, excitement, wonder, amazement and it's such a short time, so let me help you document it!  Here is some information to help you prepare for your upcoming newborn shoot.

The inside info...
My newborn sessions are part lifestyle and part baby portrait.  Lifestyle newborn sessions take place at-home and concentrate on the love and connection that the family already have for this new baby.  I'll capture special moments with each family member as well as the whole family together. If baby has big siblings, we usually do those first.  I will also capture baby alone and while I'll pose the baby a little, I keep it very natural and baby lead posing.

Do I have to clean my whole house?
NO WAY!   Don't worry about cleaning—you just had a baby, and I'm an expert at hiding junk!   The only thing I will ask you to do is have your bed made with a neutral comforter or quilt on top, if you have one :) We will often times use the nursery, living room, master bedroom...or wherever the best natural light is found.  If it is nice outside we may do some in the yard.

What to wear?
Good question, that's one of my favorites!  I recommend keeping it simple and comfortable! Neutral, light (creams, WHITES, grays or pastel tones) work best as they don't take away from your baby.   For this type of session I would skip the busy patterns.  If you need help with styling, I'm happy to help.

What should the baby wear?
A loose diaper or a white onesie.  I will bring swaddles to use and everything else I need to take baby portraits. I will show up on your door step with a bench of package :)I will bring everting I need to do portrait pictures of just your baby.

How long are these sessions?
A typical newborn session takes 1.5-2 hours. When it comes to a newborn session, the baby is boss (but we don't tell them that), so we are flexible (and patient) and allow time to enough feeding and diaper changing breaks. :)
